Carbon Emission
Excessive carbon emission is considered to be one of the major problems of the world today, as it is known to have exacerbated what is called the greenhouse effect. In case some of you aren't quite sure what greenhouse effect entails, it simply refers to “holes” in the ozone layer, which in turn allow some of the harmful rays of the sun to come through to the surface of the planet. And since the heat gets “trapped” on account of the rest of the ozone layer being intact, the planet is becoming hotter and hotter, which may eventually cause a major shift in the climate systems and cause environmental problems. Carbon emission is said to be one of the major factors that contribute to global warming, as it is considered to be a greenhouse gas whose abundance not only harms the ozone layer, but also exacerbates the heat trapped between the planet and the ozone layer.
Carbon emission, more commonly known as carbon dioxide emission is currently considered to be a major problem in the sense that today, it is the hardest to control (since industrial progress is somehow tied to increased carbon emissions) out of all the greenhouse gases – an irony, considering that it SHOULD be somehow easier to control than, say, water vapor.
