Water Energy

Hydropower or water energy is said to be one of the most often-used options for non-carbon energy that we have today. As the name suggests, water energy is essentially energy that is generated by water. Water energy generates electricity, perhaps THE most important types of electricity in the world today. The fact that it is not being exploited more despite having been a common source of energy thousands of years ago for the purpose of grain grinding is not necessarily very surprising, considering the efficacy of non-renewable carbon energy sources in “working” with machines that we have established today. Still, it says something that water energy makes up six percent of total electricity generation in the United States of America some two years ago – and slowly by slowly, it's being used more and more, little by little.

Of course, while most people claim that water energy is THE ideal replacement for all non-renewable energy sources that generate electricity (since it not only produces electricity properly, but out of all the options, it is the least likely to generate pollution, and it's the most accessible resource on account of the fact that our planet is made mostly out of water), that is not to say that water energy does not adversely affect the environment.

This section of the site will soon host more information regarding water energy.
